Thesis Project (2017)
Following a study of houses built by the Société d’habitation du Québec (SHQ) between 1980 and 1995, this project identifies different types of plausible modifications to improve residential qualities from a social, cultural and climatic standpoint.
The project is inspired by the Inuit know-how to find ways to strengthen the sense of belonging towards these dwellings. By opening-up the interiors and adding thresholds, the project addresses specific issues such as access, storage, and the preparation of country food. New spaces bring opportunities for solidarity among families.
